ZTE Hosts broadband conference in São Paulo as AI, emerging tech transform telco industry

By May 20, 2026

Chinese multinational ZTE Corporation recently hosted the fifth edition of its Broadband User Congress, themed “Monetize Your Intelligent Broadband”, in São Paulo, Brazil.

The event brought together more than 300 senior executives from leading ISPs, operators, local government, industry associations, industry experts, and ecosystem partners across Brazil and Latin America.

The company is moving forward in Brazil and the broader Latin American region, seeking to unlock growth potential through local partnerships, while empowering industrial transformations with AI, new hardware, software, and network solutions, both industrial and domestic.

“Leveraging our full-stack ‘Connectivity + Computing’ capabilities, we are committed to building an open, intelligent digital ecosystem and co-creating new value with Latin American partners,” said Fang Hui, Senior Vice President of ZTE, during his keynote speech at the congress.

An updated Verified Market Research report values the Brazilian telecom market at $32.03 billion in 2024 and projects it to reach $53.01 billion by 2032. Driving this market are new technologies like 5G network deployment and advanced connectivity, an increased demand for industrial and domestic data processing power and digital consumption, telco infrastructure projects, and gaps.

The market is described as “moderately fragmented”. While it is dominated by three major private operators, Vivo (Telefónica), Claro (América Móvil), and TIM Brasil, the full supply chain is much broader. There are over 20,000 small and medium-sized Internet Service Providers (ISPs) that are highly active. Combined the ISPs in Brazil account for more than half of Brazil’s fixed broadband access.

“Brazil continues to represent one of the most dynamic and strategically important fixed broadband markets globally,“ said Leo Lu, Vice President of ZTE, President of ZTE Brazil in a press release shared with Brazil Reports

“ZTE has established a solid and long-term presence in the country, working closely with operators and over one thousand ISPs to promote large-scale FTTx deployment and industry advancement,” he stated.
